DX Lens Autofocus on FX Trunk!?
Hello people,
I have an former, crappy 55-300mm iv.five-five.six Nikon lens. I used to utilize it on my Nikon DX body but tried information technology out on my D810 FX body today and found out it has no machine focus, which is weird! I know the FX photographic camera will auto-ingather as soon equally a DX lens is attached, just I thought it would always focus a lens like this.
Is this a photographic camera settings issue?

Some kind of settings issue. Any Nikon lens that tin AF on any DX camera should AF on a D810.

Thank you, y'all're right. Information technology is a settings issue considering I but tried a different DX lens and had the same problem. Any idea what I need to change?

For starters, the 55-300 is not so one-time or crappy. It was released in 2010. Since Nikon has made F mount lenses for over fifty years, the 55-300 would seem rather new.
Now, from the Nikon site:
AF-ON is activated in the Custom Settings Menu
Some cameras have a custom function AF-ON. When AF-ON is activated the shutter release push can not exist used to focus. This could give the impression that the cameras autofocus is non working. To ensure AF-ON has not been gear up, select Reset in the Custom Setting Carte and then test your autofocus once more with the shutter release button.

The re-setting of the AF-ON activation from AF-ON Just to Shutter/AF-ON certainly reset the autofocus non working with my DX lenses and strangely connected to work after I re-set information technology back to AF-ON Only for back push button focus, which was my original setting!
